Yes, I want a portrait commissioned!

Now what?

Step 1. Let’s discuss your vision for the painting. Drop me a line to arrange a time and I’ll send you information on pricing etc. Next, text or email a photo or two. If we are a go then…

Step 2. Review the commission guidelines and pay 1/2 of the total to reserve your spot on my calendar. Your next payment is due upon completion.

Step 3. You receive your first proof once composition of the subject is on the canvas or in a photoshop rendering. Once approved I start to add color.

Step 4. Typically the next proof will be for color approval. Whether it’s the eyes, skin, fur…whatever. I want to assure us both that it is spot on! There are usually about 3 proofs total.

Step 5. It is done! You pay the balance due and arrange a time and place to pick up your painting. If you are off island we can make shipping arrangements.

How long does it take?

This answer depends on many factors. First one is how may clients are ahead of you on my schedule. Next factor to consider is the size and style of your painting. Typically it will take 4-6 weeks due to all of the time required for the oil paint to dry.

Let’s get together and create something special for you and yours!

Aloha, Cynthia
